As part of the 8th Grade end of the quarter color wheel test, students discussed the primary and secondary colors need to create a rainbow and what order they would go in. Students then used food coloring, milk, pudding mix, Popsicle sticks and cups to make layered frozen rainbow pudding pops! Some wished we would have used chocolate pudding so when they asked why we didn’t, I let them contemplate what would have happened to the colors. Their lightbulbs then went off and were glad we used vanilla and/or banana!

8th grade students used various colors of AMACO Crystaltex Glazes (http://www.amaco.com/prodImages/glazeChips/230lg.jpg) to coat the fired clay items they threw on the wheel a few weeks ago. These pieces will be fired in the kiln once more which will turn the glaze into glass so that the items can be eaten off of.
