DH photos6th grade students studied famous dog artist William Wegman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wegman_(photographer) by watching of his videos as well as reading some of his books. Students then created their own William Wegman Parodies using printed images of dogs doing human actions.

8th grade students learned about Color Field painting is a style of abstract painting focusing on the process of how the color is applied. Considering such, students created their own Color Field like Tile using Alcohol Inks.

8th grade students studied artist Dale Chihuly (http://www.chihuly.com/) and used plastic plates and sharpie markers to create unique abstract patterns for their bowls. To form their bowls, students used a heat gun to melt the plates into shape.

8th Graders are learning how to throw on Westfield’s clay wheel. Each student has the chance to create at least one unique item using the wheel which will later be glazed.
