7th grade students studied the term stained glass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stained_glass), which refers to colored glass used as a material in a work of art. Throughout history, the term has been applied almost exclusively to windows however there are also stained glass lamp shades, lawn ornaments, pieces of jewelry, etc.

Students then made their own modern stained glass window using colored cellophane, tissue paper, construction paper and contact paper. Once complete, their stained glass windows hung on various windows throughout the school to illustrate their creations with the help of natural sun light!
