The students in E.A.T., Exploring the Arts Together, created Sand-sational Seascapes. These scenes were made by tearing different tints and shades of Blue Construction paper and gluing them on top of one another to create an effect that looked like water rolling in on the tide. They then tore brown construction paper to make the beach portion of the scene and even glued on real sand to give it a cool effect.

Every year on September 15, innovative educators around the world celebrate International Dot Day by making time to encourage their  students’ creativity. To do so at Westfield, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students read the book ‘The Dot’ by author and artist Peter H. Reynolds (http://www.peterhreynolds.com/dot/) and then had the chance to “make their mark” in new and exciting ways

The students in E.A.T., Exploring the Arts Together, created melted crayon art, similar to Artist Jessica Kerbawy, also know as J.K. Create! Students first choose their crayons and arranged them in the color order the wanted. They then hot glued them to a sheet of card stock. Students then took a heat gun and melted the crayons to create a dripping rainbow effect.
